I knew exactly what I was going to do for the delicate print prompt of the 31DC2017 this year and it involved one of the items I got sent from Born Pretty Store.
I was lucky enough to be sent some goodies from BPS to review and today presented the perfect opportunity to test out the Feather Pattern Water Decals (item #10985), because what’s more delicate than a feather?
Before getting to the decals, I decided to do a subtle pink and white marble mani for the base. I used the cling film/saran wrap technique (type it into google for a tutorial!) with Barry M Matt White and Barry M Fondant and it came out really nicely.
Once that was fully dry, I pulled out the decals. I followed the instructions on the pack, cutting out the feathers I wished to use and placing them in water for 30 seconds which allowed the design to slide off the backing paper nicely.
I then dried the feather decal off by placing it on some tissue for a second and then placed the decal on my nail. Once I’d got it into place, I popped a topcoat over it to hold it in place.
The only issue I had with the decal was that it started to break apart when I applied a topcoat. This could have been the topcoat I used or maybe I should have let the decal dry down a little longer – I’ll have a play and update you in a future post!
Overall, the decals were really easy to use and look beautiful, perfect for today’s delicate print theme!
