MeeBox hit us with the Lost City theme for their May 2017 box. Stick around if you want to hear my thoughts and see what I created with the contents of the box.
When I got the email alert for May’s theme, I was quite intrigued as I had no idea what would show up in my box. The May box consisted of three polishes and two accessories so let’s take a look at what we got!
A gold glitter that changes to a hot orangey red when the sun hits it. Definitely not an opaque polish so works best as a topcoat.
A nice, light cream nude. Perfect in two coats.
Definitely more of a green blue, very tropical, with a very opaque formula.
House of Wonderland – MeeBox Lost City Decals
A range of different ‘tribal’ designs that are super easy to use and worked perfectly with this theme.
A pack of ten super moisturising nail polish remover wipes designed to remove polish without striping the nails natural oils.
I started by painting my index and ring finger with two coats of Pier Pressure, before painting my remaining fingers with two coats of Blue Lagoon.
When both were completely dry, I used the decals over Pier Pressure by cutting as close to the design as possible and leaving in water until the backing sheet came away, then placing on the nail and leaving to dry for a minute before finishing with topcoat.
I used Hello Sailor as a glitter gradient over the Blue Lagoon nails and, once again, finished off with a topcoat.
I won’t lie, this wasn’t one of my favourite boxes, I feel like the polishes were a slight let down, especially the Ruby Wing polish which I was was more opaque as I would get much more use out of it then. Blue Lagoon stained my nails even though I used a base coat, so although it was a lovely colour I would be hesitant to use it again.
However, I was super happy with the decals! I hadn’t used decals before and these were so easy to use and I didn’t mess it up so I’ll definitely be using these again and purchasing more decals in the future.
The NCLA remover wipes weren’t my favourite, most likely because I’m used to using acetone to remove my polish which is pretty instant, so these took a lot more patience BUT they did the job and I will probably take them travelling with me as they’re convenient and don’t count towards your liquid limitations!
